The destination of waste is everyone's responsibility

The destination of waste is everyone's responsibility

We treat waste to preserve life.

Brazil has improved its recycling rate in recent years but still faces challenges that need to be overcome. And Bem Verde is here to support this mission.

We have the largest waste treatment and recovery center in a Brazilian capital.

Operating since January 2025, our Waste Treatment and Recovery Center (CTVR) is located in the Penha neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro.

How it works

Ícone

Waste Arrival

We receive materials from industries, waste collection companies (private or public), and landfills.

Ícone

Sorting

In our Mechanized Sorting Units, we separate what is recyclable and what is not. Glass, metal, plastic, cardboard, and other materials are sorted accordingly.

Ícone

Is it recyclable?

Recyclable materials return to the production chain as raw materials for manufacturing new products, such as packaging.

Ícone

Is it not recyclable?

Non-recyclable materials are converted into organic matter for generating electricity, biomethane (through Green Gas), fertilizer, and solid recovered fuel.

Transforming Lives

At Bem Verde, ESG is implemented from end to end, including initiatives that offer hundreds of people the opportunity for a fresh start.

Through a partnership with the Santa Cabrini Foundation, which manages prison labor in the State of Rio de Janeiro, 80% of the 300 jobs created by the Waste Treatment and Recovery Center are filled by individuals serving sentences.

In addition to social reintegration, the program provides health insurance for workers and their children enrolled in school.

And this is just the beginning. Bem Verde is expanding its operations across Brazil, which means that soon, we and our clients will be a bridge for hundreds more people to redefine their lives.
